I was doing some stuff in Landlady’s barn this morning when I came upon a very strange sight…
Yes, that’s the south end of a very stationary mouse, the north end of which is firmly wedged between two electrical outlets.
Never mind why. I’m quite convinced I could never accept or understand the why. I did spend several seconds, though, trying to determine HOW.
It was by no means easy to get him out of there.
I’ve heard of the kids’ cartoon character Danger Mouse (wait for it…). Obviously, this is the adult version, Suicide Mouse. . Why, yes, I am on break at work.
Mice love wire insulation. Perhaps there was a particularly delicious smelling bit of wire back there.
Oh wait, you said you didn’t care why…
I have no idea HOW either, so I guess it will just have to be one of those mysteries.
But I’d sure love to figure out a way to make more of the mice here consider suicide. 🙂
That picture is a great argument in favor of wall plates on your outlets.
🙂 Yes. Yes, it is.
But wall plates would prevent any more fried mice…Leave ’em off, I say and let them be an electrified mouse trap. Heck, add peanut butter on the wires in the box. Better to pick the fried mice out of the box than to have them reproducing, eating various parts of the JEEP and pooping all over the place.
“Leave ‘em off, I say and let them be an electrified mouse trap.”
Thanks but no thanks. Given the right conditions, a mouse might burn quite impressively. I had an amazing electrical fire started by ants once! Who would have thought?
BTW: Yes, there are electrical mousetraps, but they limit the energy so that the mouse is killed, yet not immolated. These tiny details can be important!
Next time, turn off the breaker and pry as necessary.
I agree with the peanut butter part.
