And of course haters gotta hate. Though I notice the writer never addresses a thing they actually say about F&F…

Scary Manifesto that keeps getting pushed down on the sidebar by filthy capitalism!
They say that Louis XIV had the inscription Ultima Ratio Regum cast into all the cannon of the French Army. It means “The Ultimate Argument of Kings,” and that always struck me as one of the most honest and up-front things any ruler or would-be ruler ever said. “We can dress it up prettier than this, but when it comes down to the unvarnished truth this is what it’s about: You’ll do as I say or I’ll send my goons to kill you.”
I thought about that for a long time. If there’s an ultimate argument, it seems only logical that there must be an ultimate answer. For years I thought the ultimate answer must be the bullets in my rifle, but it never seemed quite right. I’ve got bullets – he’s got frigging Cannon Balls. I mean, if there were three hundred million rifles throwing bullets at him, then maybe. But we all know that’s not going to happen. So if there’s an ultimate answer to his ultimate argument, it sure as hell ain’t bullets.
It finally came to me – and that’s when I abandoned the city and most of my stuff, and gave all that was behind me a good stiff Randian Shrug.
The ultimate answer to kings is not a bullet, but a belly laugh.

It’s certainly good to see Mike and David getting a bit wider audience. They’ve worked their asses off on this, and of course deserve to be treated with a greater sense of seriousness. At least at a prurient level, it’s gratifying that all these vaunted, industrial-strength hit machines have to go on is this transparently flaccid character-assassination strategy. All these powerful people arrayed to douse Mike’s and David’s flashlight work, and this is what they’ve got? Wow. Anyone paying attention can see that if there were any sort of substantive flaw in Mike’s and David’s case, they would have been crushed with it long ago.
To anyone on the fence who is nonetheless actually listening (and boy there don’t seem to be many of those, but they do exist), I like to first point out the rather blistering irony of it being Mike and David who were chosen as the agents of trust by ATF field agents. It’s not exactly a secret that neither of them even consider the agency legitimate in the first place, and have in fact railed against it for years. That has been an eye-opener for at least a couple of people I have run across, and I can only hope that once that bridge has been crossed, I can walk away and allow simple examination to accomplish the rest.
Keep givin’ ’em hell, gents.
