It not only cleaned out the trap, it apparently cleaned up after itself as well.


All my rat traps are worn to pieces; I’ll try again after I can score a new one.

    Keep an eye on TB. My terriers thought cat poo was candy, we got rid of the cat shortly after observing this..

    Nah, he wasn’t anywhere near it. I reflexively keep dogs away from rat traps.

    You might try dropping those old rusty traps in some coca-cola for a few days – should clean up the rust. Then a light coat of wax should keep them functioning for a season or two.

    If you’ve got time and bandwidth to spare, check out Shawn Wood’s youtube channel. He tests traps so you know what work and what doesn’t, and some of them are homemade. Even if none of the homemade ones are effective for your situation, at least you will be able to see which commercial traps work best.
