Holy crap, Cletus! Lookee here.

I can usually tell when Tam comes wandering through my sleepy little elbow joint in the intertubz, spilling organic coffee and page views wherever she goes. This, for the benefit of those of you who don’t occupy the lower 99% of the blogoverse, is what’s known as a Tamalanche. They don’t happen often, but I enjoy watching when they do.

On a Sunday, yet. Wonder what it would have been like if anybody was actually out there? Might have been the best day ever.

I don’t actually wish harm to those of my bloggin’ kin who crow, “Yep. (Contented sigh) Been bloggin’ fer three years now an’ jus’ passed mah two millionth visitor.” Or, “My new income stream from the advertisers who keep beating down my door has me well on the way to that private island I always wanted, and I sure wish I could keep up with all these damned T&E samples.” No, I don’t wish those people harm, beyond occasionally muttering something about a billion plague-ridden fleas and the pubic hair of their favorite camel. But it is clear, as TUAK approaches its fourth anniversary, that we here in our isolated little Lair will not be the recipients of such uncharitable yearnings from others any time very soon.

That’s cool. To tell the truth, the friendly community of commenters that has found its way to TUAK over the years has brought many a smile to this old hermit’s face, many a time. It has certainly exceeded my original expectations, and I know how to count blessings.

To new visitors: Welcome! Have a look around while you’re here. Send guns and money. You can keep the lawyers.

The sudden rash of adorable kitten pictures can’t be hurting your traffic any, either. 🙂

Personally, I doubt if I’ll live long enough to see a million hits at my blog.

  3. Every once in a while I’ll get one of those. Lately they’ve been coming from Stephen http://dixiecritter.blogspot.com/. Though I was surprised by an absolute avalanche once from Captain Capitalism (don’t let the name fool you) http://captaincapitalism.blogspot.com/

But it’s the “regulars”, whom I count as friends, that are worth the while. Big numbers, bah. Though I must admit that those spikes tickle me when they rarely occur.

but we like our little back corner of the internet so much!

I just assume the Joel’s little place in the sandy rocky part of the world is the center of the universe. It makes life serving time at a job so much more bearable.
