Interim Framing Party Report

We got the wall frames up, but broke up the party after a lengthy discussion on how to roof it because it was 1:30 and the sun was beating down and at 63 I’m by far the youngest member of the working party. So.

Picking it up again tomorrow early, hoping to get it roofed and sheathed.

Tired and hot now. Also I have to go to Neighbor D’s to pick up some flashing. Also no pics dump today, because I went over my bandwidth limit. Besides costing my unnamed benefactor money in an unauthorized way, I’m still learning the ramifications and consequences of that. First time I’ve carelessly let it happen in the almost-a-year I’ve had the hotspot.

More tomorrow, hopefully.

Wow! you guys(and gals?) do good work. I can’t wait to follow the ongoing progress!

Looking at the photo I don’t blame you one bit for stopping work when you did. That can’t be any kind of fun working in the heat. You have a heck of a good group of friends there. Glad that things are coming along well.

Joel, from an engineering viewpoint there is a possibility of avoiding the hot spot issue altogether if some things are available to you.
Are you in visual line of sight from any friend that has permanent internet service and would be willing to allow you to camp on to his wireless router?
If yes, there are some interesting options, if not, the question is moot.

Best of luck finishing up today. From the photo it would appear you are pitching the roof from the Lair to the long wall of the addition and if it is 8 feet wide you are getting about 1 ft drop over that span which should be plenty.

To the stake with the heretic!
