Oh, boy. Here’s another thing to dislike about a wet monsoon – even though it hasn’t even been all that wet this week. Something that’s blooming or pollinating or whatever has my nose running like a river. Hard to get anything done…
…also hard to get any sleep, which feeds into the ‘not getting anything done’ issue. Which may have something to do with the lack of posting. Posting requires thinking, which I haven’t been doing a lot of this week.
Tobie, on the other hand…
…is bright-eyed and bushy-tailed this morning, which explains why his bed is in the kitchen. Tobie isn’t an overcaffeinated hell puppy by any means but he is a big puppy and big puppies get the zoomies. His version of the zoomies, since he can’t really run as fast or far as he’d probably like, involves grabbing things in his jaws and flinging them with great force.
So no matter how tired Uncle Joel may be this morning, the long morning walkie from which we just returned was not negotiable.
I like your dog and think he’s a pretty sharp guy.
Do you have access to OTC anti-drip products like real Sudafed (from your pharmacist, no prescription needed but you have to sign for it – not the government approved product which is useless) and neo-synephrine aka phenylephrine hydrochloride. Do you sleep on 2 or more pillows to keep your head elevated? Have you tried sleeping with a flexible cold pack over your nose and sinuses?
Glad to hear from you!
Flonase (nasal squirts) and Pennsaid (eye drops) are great for when your allergies are acting up.
As to tissues, being a long-term sufferer, making hankies out of old falling-apart t-shirts works real well, as the shirt material doesn’t rip up the skin nearly as bad as kleenex.
Of course, if allergy season is bad, your drying rack will end up looking like a perverse camo-guy version of a Buddist temple with all these little square flags flapping in the breeze on wash day.
Toby pics are Always a good post!
Try generic Benadryl- diphenhydramone HCl. Works for me.
They took the best stuff off the market years ago- bromium maleate aka Brompheniramine Maleate.
Allertec (cetirizine hcl) works very well for me. Kills the running sinuses, and the burning eyes, won’t make you sleepy.
Joel, you’re not alone in the runny nose department. If it weren’t for over the counter medications like Claritin and bulk buys of tissue paper, I’d get nothing done around here. These days, all I hope for is a killer frost which will not be for a while yet.
Tobie is such a cutie. ‘Nuff said…
Watch out with the Flonase stuff. It can increase the pressure in the eyeballs. Not good for someone with glaucoma.
