Not feeling it. This is the dark side of blogging, for those who have taken the “blog every day” pledge. Nothing’s going on worth boring my six or eight every-day readers with. Haven’t lost any fingers or nearly cut my own throat with an angle grinder. Nothing of any consequence is going on between my ears. Nothing in the news that’s worth mentioning (North Korea declares itself in a state of war with South Korea? Really? Somebody tell Kim Jong Un there never was an armistice, so technically he said something right. In other news, the government of Greece is somewhat dysfunctional.)
When I find myself in times of trouble, gunbloggers.com comes to me. Except all anybody there wants to talk about is the latest gun control blather, with occasional time-outs for talk about personal stuff: Diseases endures, children cherished, chicken coops covered with parachutes. Boring.
The Internet – I can haz ennui.
I’m going outside. Spring is not boring, and seems to have arrived a month early. It’s my duty to greet it properly. Maybe I’ll go borrow D’s angle grinder.

Hang in there, Joel.
First, despite slight progress, you’ve got the opportunity for full sight (I’ve been on glaucoma eye drops for 14 years, and while my luck has been better than yours, I’m very much aware the next sunrise brings a new adventure. So far, I’ve been lucky enough to see each one of them, and even if I hadn’t, I’d know – somehow -the opportunity was there.)
Second, the internet is full of idiots who are clueless about what your life is like, no matter how much you tell them. Fuck ’em, and full speed ahead. You ain’t dead until you is dead, and that doesn’t come until you finally give up.
You don’t strike me as someone who will ever finally give up. Someone will have to force you.
Hope you went out and played in the sun. It’s raining here. Not much, but very welcome! SPRING!! I can dig it. 🙂
I’ve taken so many breaks from blogging that I doubt anyone notices. Screw em. We’ll keep reading anyway. Looking forward to when you have insight to share, and should you lack it, its our loss, not yours. Go look at cat pictures, or charge te batteries and play with the dogs. Yeah, dogs make things better…
I went and shot guns today. For the jillionth time, I found myself thinking “You know, I really should clean this MkIII instead of just squirting more lube in it and continuing to shoot…
…then I squirted more lube in it and continued to shoot.
I’ll clean it when I can find my give-a-damn. 😉
I’ll clean mine when I find where I wrote down the magical incantation that lets me put it back together again right…
Well I’m sure you have more than 6-8 daily readers. Some of us just don’t post often and we prefer to read via an RSS feed aggregator than to visit the full website.. And don’t forget the government. I’m sure you have many secret subscribers from that side.
Oh and be careful with the angle grinder. Those things can be deadly
🙂 Cheers
Hmm… something that wrm regularly says to me, and we echoed it this morning as we left the range : A bad days’ shooting still beats a good day at work.
So what if you’re not feeling it? Go play with your toys that go bang and make noise 😀
It always makes me feel better. 😉 And no, I haven’t been jailed for homicide, no matter what little stinkpot-jackrabbit may tell ya…. yet. Merely because I haven’t been caught… *dodges from the many secret-governmental-types* Mwahahaa!!
“The Internet – I can haz ennui.”
I gotta find a way to use that, because it’s perfect.
