President Trump still has the virtue of not being Hillary Clinton, but…

I don’t like him this much.

Trump’s Israel Visit: Major Security in Jerusalem, Bethlehem

JERUSALEM — You’ve heard of armored vehicles for world leaders and A-list celebrities. Now President Donald Trump is about to get an armored hotel suite.

A huge security operation has been launched that aims to envelop the president and his 1,000-person entourage during his visit to Jerusalem and Bethlehem next week.

Trump’s accommodation during the second stop on his trip will be a bomb-proof, poison gas-proof and bulletproof hotel room built to withstand the collapse of the entire building, according to Sheldon Ritz, operations manager for Jerusalem’s King David Hotel.

“The presidential suites have independent air conditioning in case of a gas attack and are built to withstand a RPG [rocket-propelled grenade],” he said of the super-luxurious suites that cost around $5,700 per night. “But still the U.S. is bringing rocket-proof glass to put in front of the window.”

“If the whole hotel blows up the suite will come down in one piece, so maybe a few broken bones, but they will be alive,” said Ritz, adding that the King David would become a “mini White House.”

In order to prevent explosives-laden cars from ramming the hotel, two buses full of heavy equipment will be placed at the entrance to the main road. Balloons carrying infrared cameras will float above the building while bomb-spotting robots will lurk in sewers beneath it.

I don’t even want to hear the figure of how much this cost. Couldn’t he just stay in the White House? Why on earth would we want him in the middle east anyway? He’s only going to say something stupid and start a war. Which we’ll have to pay for. They say he’s a billionaire but you can bet he’s not picking up the tab for any of this shit.

trump dead twitter
Sheesh.

  1. I guess the Israelis remember the bombing of the King David Hotel, by the Irgun (jewish terrorist group) back before their war of Independence. I expect they don’t want to go through that again, and especially not with the only American President who gave a damn about them since Richard Nixon.

I’m glad he’s going , myself, since it shows he’s being supportive of Israel, which is a hell of a nice change from Obama kissing the King of Saudi Arabia’s hand.

You ever read any of Edward Abbey’s books? He lived in your stomping grounds, and wrote about them and the people (like you) who live out on the rough edge. He had a lot of admiration for them.

Yes to all that . . . and he’s still “Not Hillary”.

The illegal invasion has been reduced by 70% to 90% IN SPITE OF the treason by Federal “judges”. And many of those who were already criminally here are emigrating across the border to North Canuckistan to enrich their society and perform all those jobs that Bob and Doug McKenzie simply will not do.

He has shitcanned a BUNCH of regulations that were choking business in this country.

He has convinced a bunch of businesses to bring jobs BACK to the US.

And he has done all this IN SPITE OF corruption and sedition by the Democrats and Rove Republicans and the Media and everyone else in the Deep State who are committed to wiping out the United States as an independent sovereign nation and relegating Western culture to the ash heap.

All in less than 200 days. But that STILL is not good enough for you?

Sorry about the two posts, but Google would not let me post in one.

A solid gold F-22 would be a cheaper gift. :)

You ever read any of Edward Abbey’s books?

I’m familiar with Desert Solitaire and Monkey Wrench Gang. Personally I found him kind of irritating: based solely on what I’ve read he was an environment scold and a “get off my lawn” elitist, and his notion of anarchy came with more than a pinch of dynamite.

BTW, Harry, I tried to email you repeatedly last weekend and for some reason my email hates your email. So I’ll just go public: I got that envelope you sent, and wanted to say thanks.

  7. Ben says:

I hate to sound circular, but Hillary had the virtue of not being Trump. In my personal opinion, (and with full respect to those who don’t agree) this was an election with two historically bad choices.

  8. Joel says:

Oh, no argument there, Ben. I believe I’ve never been more embarrassed by a presidential election cycle. There was literally no way to even pretend to win, and I’m not even completely certain there was a lesser evil.

But I try to look at it this way: With Hillary we knew exactly what we were going to get. She’s been trying to give it to us good and hard for almost 25 years. With Trump, who knows? But unless he manages to blunder into a major war with a nuclear power we’re still almost certain to be better off – and short of that war, news from Washington is bound to at least be kind of interesting, and not always in a “what’re they taking from us now” kind of way.

  9. Kentucky says:

This election was so bad that if Bernie had been the Dem candidate I might just have sat it out entirely instead of being forced to vote for “Not Hillary”.

    Talk about two evils . . .

At lest the well-known bogging inertia of the entire fedgov should hopefully keep Donald from doing something totally catastrophic . . . I hope . . . I hope . . .

The latest media rumor is that hes tired of it all and will resign and declare victory. Could be worse, I think.

  10. Joel, Sorry about the email problem. I have a lot of problems with my email, I think it’s the crappy internet I have, but it’s the only one I can get up here. Por Nada, Amigo. Just a gesture of respect.

To the stake with the heretic!
